Judge Bedford was elected to the Superior Court of Fulton County in 1996 and re-elected in both 2000 and 2004. Prior to serving on the bench, Judge Bedford was a practicing trial lawyer handling a variety of cases including criminal, domestic, personal injury and general civil work. He first served in the criminal/civil division and later served for two years on the Family Court before returning to the criminal/civil division. He is the current President of the Emory Law Alumni Association. |

Judge Bedford is also an Adjunct Professor of Advanced Litigation Skills at Emory University and a sought after speaker on litigation, ethics and professionalism issues. Judge Bedford is a Past President of the Atlanta Bar Association and served for a number of years on the Board of Directors. He remains active in the Atlanta Bar Association, the American Bar Association and numerous other local bars. Judge Bedford has received many Atlanta Bar and State Bar awards for his commitment to excellence and professionalism in the law. After graduating from the University of Virginia with a BA in International Affairs in 1966, Judge Bedford went on to receive his JD from Emory University School of Law in 1973. |
